Little Way is the husband-and-wife country duo of Braedon and Kayla Hoecherl. Rooted in the northwoods of Wisconsin, their sound is built on simplicity — acoustic guitar, banjolele picking, and close-knit harmonies that carry songs grounded in truth.
They believe strong lyrics and honest storytelling matter more than pristine production. Whether performing well-known country favorites or their own original music, Little Way brings a sincere, stripped-down style that values meaning over flash. Their live sets span generations of country music — from Johnny Cash, Alabama, and Garth Brooks to Zach Bryan, Tyler Childers, Riley Green, and Chris Stapleton — along with personal favorites like Flatland Cavalry, Muscadine Bloodline, and Charles Wesley Godwin. Woven throughout are their own songs, including tracks from their debut album, Simple is the Hardest Thing to Be, released in May 2024.
Music has shaped their lives for years. The two met while serving and playing in the band at CrossWoods Adventure Camp, where they continue to live and work. It was there that their musical partnership — and eventually their marriage — began.
Named after their patron, Saint Thérèse of Lisieux, Little Way reflects a commitment to humility, devotion, and faithfulness in small things. That spirit carries into their worship music, where their simple country style becomes an offering of reverence and praise. Whether on stage, at camp, or leading worship, their goal remains the same: real instruments, real voices, and songs that point to what is true and good.
They record their music in a small home studio tucked away among the pines — a quiet place that shapes the warmth and sincerity of their harmony-driven sound. You may hear the subtle imperfections of a live acoustic performance, but that’s intentional. It’s not about perfection. It’s about honesty.

Our peaceful life in the woods is animated with activity... we don't get bored! Kayla works as a nurse in the emergency department and the coordinator for the local diocese Natural Family Planning Program. Braedon takes care of the camp we live at and works full time on music. We are both very involved in a summer camp owned by Kayla's family, which you can learn about below. Our dog, Porter and two cats, Delta and Jolene are good pals and keep the wildlife in check around here. Our family milk cow Mossy and her calf Emmylou bring our little homestead to life with their spunky personalities. Our flock of chickens add a little flavorful noise to our secluded, wooded homestead.

Family and friends fill our lives with color and comfort. We are both blessed with strong, tight-knit families that we thank God for. The odds of coming from a united, faith-centered family are pretty low in modern times, so we consider ourselves luckier than most... not so much lucky, but blessed. The gift of family is imperfect and beautiful and beloved. We're no strangers to life on the road as 2 to 3 hours in the car is a regular event for us and them. Strong friends walk with us along the journey, too. We're all figuring life out as we go, but we know something for certain: time spent on loved ones is never wasted.
We help operate and manage the property of CrossWoods Adventure Camp Inc., our family owned Christian summer camp. It is a place where teens are invited to get out of their comfort zones and encounter Jesus in the peace and beauty of His creation. We lead adventures such as rock climbing, river kayaking, hiking, and high ropes. To learn more about CrossWoods or support our ministry, click the link to the camp website!
